Halloween Clothes: Scaring Beyond the Simple Life

When life was still simple and uncomplicated, people simply scared the wits out of each other by living the simple life, i.e., by being boring, plain and distant. These days, however, it takes a little more than living the simple life to scare the wits out of people. Now you have to be a little more sophisticated and use some devices for spooking. Children especially need them because they are too darn cute to be scary.
In the case of Halloween and its attendant period of trick or treating, what you can do is to have your children wear some Halloween clothes and time their appearances to spook, e.g., jump out from a dark alley just as people are passing by.
In choosing the Halloween clothes for your child, you can find a wealth of ideas from Hollywood. Aside from wearing vampire, Frankenstein, and mummy clothes, you can buy Jason or Freddy Krueger costumes.
It really doesn’t matter if you buy clothes or make them yourself. The important thing is to let your children have fun while they are wearing them and get them in the groove for spooking. If you opt to buy Halloween clothes, you can buy from many online stores. With your magic credit card you can pick the clothes of your choice and you are all set to enjoy the festive season of Halloween in Style.

Cartoon Wardrobe in Kiddy Fashion
Posted November 16th, 2007 by Pam McKinnis
Kids love the trendy garments of their favorite stars and superheroes. I've noticed how my own kids dress up differently soon after a
much talked about movie hit the box office. All the while, I thought cartoon characters could only influence the prints in kiddy shirts, hats and bags like the case of Mickey Mouse. But observing closely how kiddy clothing fads come and go, there is a glaring resemblance between the wardrobe worn by cartoon stars (such as the Japanese anime Naruto and Sakura) and today's children's designer clothing. Also, I noted that one of the most widely played on-line network game ‘Ragnarok' introduced western wardrobe in a traditionally oriental setting. Take note that the game was created by Korean programmers.
Striped clothes, most notably those alternating pink-white, blue-white or black-white shirts and blouses, are commonly seen among anime characters. Burberry and Armani Junior have a long line of shirts following this trend. Try surfing the websites of Disney Channel and Cartoon Network and then compare it with most online clothing boutiques. You will be amazed how heavily cartoon characters influenced kiddy clothes designer shops.
Boys love to play soldiers. This is why camouflage design is almost seen in all children's clothing stores. Bonnets and other head gears adopt both vintage and modern military caps as base designs such as those worn by pilots, gunners and infantry men.
If adult fashion has models and celebrities setting the trend, kids take a cue from their favorite carton stars. Soon, anime cartoons stars would soon rise to replace big names such Mickey Mouse in setting the trend in upscale children's clothing.
Young Girls and ‘Preppy’ Clothes
Posted November 13th, 2007 by Pam McKinnisClothes are still the best birthday or Christmas present for our kids. But choosing a birthday dress that they would be happy to wear is a difficult job, especially when you feel like drowned in a sea of brand names in children's clothing stores. Hundreds of upscale brands names abound, and it would difficult to tell which one is the best buy. Being a father of three young girls (ages 16, 13 and 9), shopping for a present is a grueling task.
Girl's boutique outfits are sophisticated. Every time my young girls pass by a glass display, they would stare on that nicely clad mannequin. My late mom was a dressmaker and kids may have heard a lot about fashion from her. I was not surprised when they cut a piece of cloth from an expensive curtain to make a dress for their Barbie dolls. My wife was fuming mad of course!
I asked my eldest daughter what to look for when in a designer shop for girls. Simply look for "preppy" ones, she said. That word did not mean anything to me. She didn't bother to explain and instead, told me to watch Disney Channel's Hannah Montana.
So this is what I got from my ‘research' - preppy clothing means something that has a big-buckled belt that is not meant to hold that super tight pants, matched with a beaded silk blouse and topped by a jacket that barely reach the navel. Goodness! This is what girls are looking for.
My time surfing the Disney Channel website opened to me the world of children's designer clothing. And so I also found out, this teenage celebrity Hanna Montana is Miley Cyrus in real life -- daughter of the country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. At least, I had a way to bridge the generation gap.
New Poinsetta Designs for the Holidays
Posted October 12th, 2007 by Pam McKinnis
We just found some adorable, soft cotton fabric with lovely red, pink, and green Poinsetta designs on a white background and will be designing some great holiday styles with this fabric. The designs just came in this morning and it is so hard to pick which ones to use but I think we will probably have about 3 styles with this fabric against red or pink solids. Since there are people all over the country in different climates we will design a few different styles ranging from pant sets to skirts and a dress.
Here is a swatch of the fabric, what do you think?

Start of the Holiday Season

Today we got our next shipment in of some very cute styles and can't
wait to show them, there is a photo of a few attached here. Every time
a shipment is scheduled to arrive I'm like a nervous wreck because one
thing I have learned by doing this business is the package ain't there
til it's there, if you know what I mean. We've had some very smooth
roads through customs and some rockier times as well and I am pleased
